Why does user experience matter in retail?

User Experience (UX) design is more than just eye candy. When done right, it reduces costs associated with employee training, increases productivity, and helps create brand loyalty. In the retail industry especially, where interfaces haven’t changed since the ‘90s, it can be easy to appreciate how much better retail software—and the experience for associates and customers—can be when it’s built on design that’s beautiful, research-based, and flexible enough to adapt well into the future.
